First Steps to a Relationship with Christ

Romans 10:9 {NLT} If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
John 3:3 {NLT} Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

Are you new to Christ or wondering how you can deepen your relationship with Him?

Below are your very first steps for entering a relationship with Christ or renewing an existing one.

Salvation Prayer – Simple Steps:

  1. Acknowledge in your heart that Jesus is Lord and confess that He is Lord out loud.
  2. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised three days later.
  3. Repent of your sins and invite Jesus into your heart and life.

*The prayer below is a guideline, make it yours by using your own words.

“God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge that Jesus Christ gave His life for me on the cross, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life, Lord. Fill my heart with your presence. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. You are my savior. I ask this in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.”

*Know that this prayer is not a ticket to instant transformation and goodness, although it may happen, most often God starts working behind the scenes, arranging things perfectly for his plans in your life. Even if you don’t see change or feel him around you right away, he is working on your behalf. Believe with faith, then you will receive his blessings, and feelings of his presence. Don’t give up, keep hope in Christ the Lord.

If you decided to receive Christ today, welcome to God’s family of believers. To grow closer to Him, the Bible tells us to follow-up on our commitment. Here are a few next steps you can take:
