Carob Shake {AIP}


This shake is a good substitute when you’re craving something chocolate on the AIP protocol. I had this for a breakfast snack, but also plan to make it as a treat in the evening.

Servings: 2


  • 1 can full-fat, coconut milk
  • 2 pitted medjooled dates
  • 2 tbsp organic honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tsp carob powder


In a blender or food processor, blend the banana and dates on high for about 20 seconds. Add the coconut milk, honey, and vanilla extract, blend on high for 30 seconds. Serve immediately and enjoy!


Non-AIP version:

Add: 1 cup almond milk, 1-2 more dates OR sub honey for 1/4 cup maple syrup.
