Italian Salad {Paleo, Whole30}


Okay I’ll be honest, I think this is my favorite salad, ever {even pre-paleo}. The turkey mixed with salami is a really delicious combo.

I did not include any olives in my photos, just because my local store was out, and I forgot to stop elsewhere.



I don’t usually make my own dressing, partly because I never like the taste of them. They either have no flavor or just taste like oil to me. Sometimes I even just put a little olive oil on my salad or juice from the banana pepper jar, and call it good.

This dressing included in the recipe is my absolute favorite. I am using it for other salads besides this one because it is that good. My husband also really enjoyed it, the honey is key!

Italian Salad {Paleo, Whole30}

Servings: 4


  • 6 cups of lettuce { romaine or butter lettuce}
  • 1/2 medium red onion, diced
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup black olives sliced {not in photo}
  • 4 oz deli turkey or chicken, chopped
  • 4 oz salami
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp raw honey
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs


  1. In a large bowl, combine the lettuce, onion, tomatoes, olives, turkey and salami.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, mustard, honey and herbs. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to coat. Serve immediately.
  3. If you make the salad ahead, keep the salad and dressing separate until ready to serve.
