We are going to look at the most common reason we feel we cannot start a yoga practice, and that is lack of time! We have 100 million things we need to do, our house to clean, husband to help, children to feed and take to sports, pets to take care of, it is endless. Making time for yoga will mean you need to make time for it. When you give up something to make space for yoga and God in your life, all the other tasks you have to do will get easier. They wont magically disappear like I wish they would, but while we are doing them we can have more peace, feel better and can have open communication with God because we already surrendered our bodies, day and time to him in our yoga practice.

We think, feel and act, based off of what our minds tell ourselves. Our self talk influences us, negatively and positively. Let’s deconstruct our thought that we do not have time.

In order to become the happy people we are designed to be we need to:

  1. Locate misbeliefs
  2. Remove them
  3. and replace misbeliefs with the truth

2 Corinthians 10:5 (NLT)

 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

  1. Misbelief- I don’t have time to do yoga
  2. Not True
  3. The truth is- I do have time, I choose not to spend it on increasing my health and relationship with God. I choose to put my hobbies, kids, husband, job, pets, home etc. first in my schedule before taking care of myself and seeking God.

If you relate to this lie you’re probably also struggling to make time for God, read his word, participate in bible studies or even attend church. You also may be struggling with weight issues, health issues and chronic pain.

The reality is we choose to do what we want with our time, we cannot blame other people, things, activities, responsibilities for our choices.

If this is something you commonly say to yourself:

I have to ____________.


I have to go to _______event,responsibility, work early, etc.___.

These are lies. The truth is:

I choose to______________.

I choose to go to __________ rather than __________.

I choose to watch T.V rather than exercise.

I choose to go in early at work rather than read the bible.

I choose to go to every sports event rather than take time to pray, exercise or study.

I choose to eat what my husband brings home rather than discipline myself and eat healthy.

So if you think you don’t have time to exercise or talk with God, look at your schedule and see what you’re choosing over God and your own health.
